Just yesterday I noticed a clunk/rattle when I fired up the engine. It also happens when turning left (only left) and under high torque acceleration in 1st gear (mostly uphill).

Since it happens on startup I think I can rule out the suspension. And I can feel it in the floorboards (frame rail) and it feels like it's coming from the transmission crossmember. Possibly the transmission mount.

Any help diagnosing/suggestions in fixing? Thanks.

my opinion is you have a bad motor mount. the torque of the start up and powering up hill is making it pop in and out. i had that problem once in an s-10 with a 350 in it. try putting it in gear and brake torque it in drive and in reverse to see if it pops in and out.

could either be a motor mount like said above of the transmission mount itself.they tend to work loose from time to time.

could also be the exhaust pipe hitting something like the springs . mine was doing that for a while , i would just replace the engine mounts and tranny mount it will cost you maybe 50$ it only cost me 20 to do all three last time but i have a discount so ya ...... i would look at the exhaust to .

I'm pretty certain it's the tranny mount. I can feel/hear the clunk when shifting directly from reverse to drive without stopping in neutral.
