Hi guys

I am lucky Smile to find this forum and hope to be more lucky Very Happy to have your advice in my coming project .

I have tj 97 (4L engine - AX15 - NP231 - D30 front - D44 rear )
I have serious plan to swap LS1 5.7L with 350 HP . in my jeep and I will make it in my house , I need this jeep for sand dune crazy jeep .

I need yours advice for the four choices I have as follows :

choice #1# LS1 + AX15 by adapter from Novak adapt. or other elss + np231+ d30 front+ d44 rear .

choice #2# LS1 + (4L60E + np241) from youkon 97-03 + d30 front+ d44 rear .

choice #3# LS1 +(nv3550 from xj 00-01 ) +np231+ d30 front+ d44 rear .(( is't true that I can adapter the NV3550 to LS1 by GM Bellhousing without adapter ? ).

choice #4# LS1 + ( from land cruiser fj40 1985 - manul 5 speed transmission + transfer case + axles , very cheap in my country ) .

(( for the first 3 choices : did my tj axle d30 front+ d44 rear will handle 350 hp in sand dune drive ? ))

pls. if you have time give me your advice .

thanks in advance thanks

In the sand your axles will hold up. I sand dragged for several years at pismo beach with the same axles. I ran 33x16.50 paddles in the rear and 33x12.50 bfg muds in the front pushing more horsepower then that plus a bit of nitrous.

dont remember which 3 speed stick I had at the time. But if your playing in the sand with alot of power i would go with an auto. I really dont know which one to recomend. I'm from the turbo 350 or 400 days.

when you use the th350 or th400 do you have problem with the overheating for the auto trans.? I am fright from this point .

My country is very hot , but I plan to use a used condenser AC from any tj jeep and use it to cool the trans. oil .

Oh for the 3Speed stick , My father have chevy 72 truck 4x4 with 3 speed stick it's make me sick when I drive it , but the true it's very strong gears we loud it more than 1,5 ton , it's our station in camping .

hear sum photo for the chevy72 :
