Hi,

I'm doing some electrical work to my '94 YJ and need to bring some wires through the firewall. The best spot is on the passenger side if I can work around the a/c equipment, otherwise it'll have to be the drivers side. I was wondering if anyone know what the thickness is so I know what I'm up against when I start drilling or if there are places to avoid....or if anyone has any alternative suggestions for running wiring through the firewall.

Thanks,

Rob

Hmm... this pdf was prepared by chysler for installing radio equipment... It seems to indicate that there may be unused holes already made... I did not find any on my zj though... i drilled a one inch hole ( i have a lot of accesory wiring) above the battery with no problem i'd say the metal was 1/16 of an inch thick took be no time to cut through make sure you dont drill to high because youll run into metal seams under the windshield frame. basically just feel around under the dash and then drill a small pilot hole so you know your in the right spot.
