so i have a 96 cherokee,4.0,automatic. anyone know where i can find a 3 inch body lift. or any body lift for that matter. ive looked everywhere and cant seem to find one. thank you for your help.

XJ's are unibody...hence the frame and body are one piece...hence body lifts cannot be done.

i didnt know that they were unibody. but thanks for the info. looks like i am gonna have to fork over the extra money for the lift

Didn't we figure out once how we could do a body lift...something about a sawzall, angle iron and a bunch of tape. dancing banana

It was a swazall, angle iron and JB Weld. flipoff agree

I'm gonna move this one to Gen BS....it can do nothing but continue to go off topic. rofl

I was talking to a local guy the other day who is trying to figure out a way to put his XJ on a Chevy S10 frame.. I told him I didnt think it would work but he is determined to try.. I will keep my camera handy.. This is bound to get ugly... rofl rofl rofl

Anything is possible. He will, of course, be throwing away the majority of the strength of the XJ chassis... I would suggest 3 point suspension of the chassis to the frame, that way at least the chassis and the frame won't be fighting over the "proper" flex for given stress... He will still wind up with something that is both heavier *and* weaker than either proper frame *or* monocoque construction.
