I've got a 91 Cherokee Laredo that i'm trying to install a stereo in. I bought a Pioneer deck and it came with a harness. Then I got a schosche harness and wired the two together. The harness that plugs into the factory wiring has a ground built in, while the factory harness has a separate ground. I taped the ground from the deck to the ground from the dash. Then when I plug in the stereo nothing happens, even when it's running the thing won't turn on. I found a wiring diagram on the12volt.com and was wondering if anyone had a diagram that was visual so I could see where each wire was in the plug for the factory harness. Anybody know why, seems like this question is asked quite a bit on here. Thanks guys.

nevermind guys, I figured it out. There are two different harnesses that fit the facotry wiring, one has wires in a certain order, including a ground, and the other has no ground, like it shouldn't because the Jeeps use a separate ground in their stock harness. So when you are buying a harness make sure it has no ground built in, so it fits right. crazy jeep

always a good idea to ground the deck , there is a bolt on the back 95% of the time .

solder is also recommended Very Happy
