He was asking $300. I know, I could build my own for way cheaper!!!!!

yes ,yes you could.

25 a door hell even if they were 40
40 in metal for both
some time to cut and weld on the metal skins.

you say you don't have a welder.then cut all the pieces needed and bring them to an autobody guy ,give him few bucks to weld them up for you.you could even over lap the skins and pop rivet the skins on .granted it wouldn't look as nice as the welded ones.

i make these for people from time to time.i even have a set of doors hang out in my garage and i don't even own an Xj anymore.

i sell my doors for 150~200 depending on options .like cup holders built in ,if i supply the mirrors,if i have to paint them.

ya if i had a drivers(as the main) and a rear view(as the second) you can pass in any state.most only require 2 rear viewing mirrors.or say a drivers mirror and passenger mirror.if you ever get a ticket for obstruction of rear view for an over sized tire or stickers what ever you can get out of it.every state box trucks can pass inspection why can't you .

still can't see what he has done to make an older door work on a later style door latch. for what he is asking i would want the door more finished.i don't like that he is using that pin on the top of the door to release it .the chances are to high that you will bump into that while wheeling and have the door open on you.

mine come skinned on the inside along with the original inside handle (moved of course)

i leave the exterior handle as well but cut it.what you can't see is that there is enough left to grab with one finger.
