Is there anything to know concerning changing out a lower control arm on a 96 XJ? I am merely replacing a damaged one with an aftermarket unit from Quadratec. Do you just place a floor jack under the frame and swap 'em out? TIA

Stand jacks under the frame and support the axle with a floor jack. If you do them one at a time, it should be an easy swap. Use plenty of PB Blaster on the bolts and you'll probably need a deadblow hammer to get the old one out / new one in.

Thanks Phantum. Much appreciated.

I'm curious to know if the axle will move back and forth with the CA out, making the bolt alignment difficult, as well.

Yes it does, but with a little back-and-forth play on the floor jack it'll go back in. Just make sure the frame and jack stands are secure like Phantum mentioned and you won't have any trouble.

i like to use screw drivers instead of bolts for the initial assembly , you can throw them both in like nothing and move the axle around by pulling on a screw driver , then just pull one out at a time and put a bolt in place .

it might be easier just to swap the LCA's , but i remember putting in the front end to be a jurk .
