Basically anytime i go 40mph or faster i hear a loud humming noise coming from what sounds like the front of the car but i have no idea what it could be. It just started about a week ago and i haven't even taken the car off road yet...just normal everyday driving. It gets louder as i accelerate and i can feel the vibrations in the pedal. Any ideas what this could be?

Bad tires or uneven tire pressure?

Those dirty bastards!!! I've seen a few humming gypsies myself before! You gotta find em quick, before they start parting out your Jeep in exchange for fine gypsie moonshine!

You mean this? http://www.austingipsy.net/images/calgipsy1.JPG Wink

Getting back to the O.P., a humming noise can mean a lot of things. Like Orange, I would suggest starting with the tires; have them balanced and checked for uneven wear. If you can eliminate them, it's time to start looking at stuff like wheel and pinion bearings.

Muddbutt:

How many miles does your WJ have on it? I'm with kaos on systematic elimination of components, but I've owned a several ZJs and WJs and, if your Jeep has more than 80 or 90 thousand miles, I'd almost reflexively suspect one or both hub bearings as the cause of a noise such as you describe, especially if the noise is new or has developed more-or-less suddenly; however, make sure you eliminate the brake rotors and pads as potential causes as you remove them to check the hub bearings.
