This is driving me crazy. pissed

My wife's 2002 GC Overland has a low volume rattle that sounds like it is coming from the rear of the vehicle when you go across any small bump or ripples in the road. Sitting in the garage, I've checked:

. Spare tire and compartment area
. Exhaust
. Shocks (I even replaced them, no help)
. Rear sway bar
. Rear diff (I had it serviced a few months ago and that did not help)
. Tires and lug nuts

Nothing appears to be loose or worn. I'm out of ideas. Does anyone else have any thoughts? I know I'm looking for a needle in a hay stack, but, you would think I would have noticed something. It can't be that complicated!

I have 2 ideas that may work for you (only because both happened to me).

First, check to make sure the exhaust isn't close enough to touch anywhere on the body or crossmembers.

Second, have your catalytic converter checked. Mine got so old the interior separated and rattled around.

Other than that, good luck figuring out.

Check the trim on your back door. Mine is a little loose right now as well and I noticed it was making a rattling noise.
