I just ordered new sway bar links for my 98 tj. My question is about the bushings on the sway bar where it attaches to the frame. How do you tell if these are bad? Do they make sounds, look different, what? They seem to be pretty cheap, so I thought while I was doing the links I would just replace the bushings as well if they needed it. I assume you unbolt them, the bushing comes out from around the bar, then do the opposite to replace with a little grease? Any advice would be great. Also, I ordered Moog replacement links, anybody have opinions about them? I got them from rockauto.com they had the cheapest price I could find, and had 5 or 6 different options. Ive dealt with them before, i would reccommend giving them a look. Thanks for the info guys.

I am in the process of replacing mine on 97 TJ. Just one question...
I am assuming that the correct bushings would be very tight
around the bar when installed? The old ones looked bad and were loose.
I may not have the right ones as replacements as they are also loose around the bar.
Are there several variations of swaybar diameter sizes out there?

I ended up not replacing my bushings. I did notice though when i was looking at them that there are different diameter bushings, so there must be different diameter bars..... just something I noticed. I would think they should be somewhat tight on the bar though.

Yes, there are different sizes. It should be a tight fit!
