Recently my 97 GC has been very intermittently having the following electrical problems: 1) all the needles on the instrument cluster drop to zero(they are still backlit & the vehicle still runs fine)
2) power windows do not operate
3)the "Vehicle Information Center" brightens & darkens randomly
4) the security LED (dash on the driver's side) illuminates while car is running
5) Once the auto headlights turned off at night along with dash lights (light sensor?)

The only ones that consistently happen at the same time are the instrument cluster & power windows failures. According to the owners's manual those 2 are not on the same fusible circuits. Since this is an intermittent problem I am dreading a mechanic's bill for this solution. If anyone out there has seen this before on this model or has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

May be a failing BCM but sounds more like a ground fault

Ditto the ground fault.. Check all of your ground wires.. Especially the main ground on the battery.. Any that are loose or broken need to be replaced and if your battery ground is swollen ... Its bad.. Replace it..
