I was a member a while back but couldnt remember info.
I have a 91 YJ that i have had for 16 years now, put it through hell in my early days as a teenager and still do. I will never sell her but i have thought on purchasing an older jeep to restore.
She has a 4 cyl. with way to stiff rancho shocks that i need to replace and she has 3 inch lifted leaf springs that have no flex but that will have to wait with 33 inch michelins and 95,000 miles.
I took off my throttle position sensor since i was pulling codes (12,33,24,15,55). I was wondering if there needs to be a gasket between the sensor and the throttle body.I have misplaced my haynes manual.
should have probably checked the volts first before treating her like a stripper and throwing money at her.
I have some other problems i will post later.[/img]

Are you talking about the Fuel Control sensor on the throttle body that is held on by 2 torx screws? If so then NO it doesn't have a gasket. I just took mine off my 93 to spray some contact cleaner on it. There was NO gasket on it.

thanks for the input. I replaced the throttle position sensor with no gasket because i noticed the space on the bottom of it so a gasket wouldnt really keep liquids out like i was thinking.
Throttle body sensor fixed the shutting off while driving, the no start for 10 minutes and the stumbling when giving gas. All for $23

fixed the diagnostic codes 24 and 15

Ok the other day I was in my engine bay I did some looking around. I took the other sensor off which has a probe sticking out of it. This one has an O-ring on it. No gasket like the other one.

That would be the IAC! Wink You should pull it out and clean it, if you haven't already.
