hi all i am new to the forum, i have a 91 4.0 2wd. I am noticing the cooling lines to the trans are funky old and rotted also spliced into by the p/o. Is there a good source for these? should i just go to the dealer and spend away or would cutting the metal and just adding off the shelf rubber lines be fine.
like my nickname says I don't really go off road or anything crazy but i might add a hitch and pull the occasional motorcycle trailer. thanks Wink

i'd just go to your local parts house and get them. trans cooler lines aren't expensive by any means.

you could also go to a wrecker and take them off a wrecked jeep , they might want 10$ for them

is just the rubber rotted up ? one of my rubber lines ripped so i just cut it off and hose clamped a new one on . hasn't failed me yet .

i would of given you my other set if you lived here , i honestly folded them in half a few times and threw them away because i had to many random jeep parts floating around . or atleast thats what some one else thought .

all great ideas, I am headed to the junk yard as soon as I get time, Usually alot of good finds but where rust isn't much of a problem here rubber rot is. i don't mind shelling out a few bucks since its cheaper than a new tranny. this is my first jeep and also the newest vehicle i have ever owned and I love it. thanks again all for the help. Very Happy
