To All My Democrat Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To All My Republican Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

flipoff agree rofl

I'm not as good as Dale with words, but here's a little poem I wrote, about a trail we did in 04 or 05 With apologies to Clement Clark Moore. Very Happy
Merry Xmas Everyone ab=nd Enjoy, I hope.

Twas the Day of the Trail Run

Twas the day of the Trail run and all through the state,
Excitement was high, we could hardly wait.
We loaded the gear in the Jeeps with great care,
We hoped to find a spot to rid our tires of air.

Last night I was nestled all snug in my bed,
While visions of rock gardens danced in my head.
Now I’m in my hiking boots and Allen in his cap,
Did he remember Dale’s downloaded map?

When on the handheld, we heard such chatter,
We sprang from the XJ to see what was the matter.
Away to the trail we sped we sped like a flash,
Avoided some rocks and someone’s left over trash. (NOT OURS)

The sun through the trees was a beautiful sight,
We went up the path and turned to the right.
When what to our grateful ears we did hear,
Our trail boss say put it in 4 low gear.
Our trail boss Steve got us going right quick,
He took the lead followed by Dale then Rick.

More rapid than eagles our fun soon began,
We lined up our Jeeps both woman and man.
Steve lined us up by model and name,
First XJ, then CJ than Dale and then Rick,
Next were Trevor, then Allen, then Jen and last Vic. (You were still Vic on this run)

To the top of the trail, right by the rock wall our jeeps started to crawl.
Come on let’s rock and roll you all.
With huge splashes through the creek we let fly,
Trevor met with an obstacle, he took to the sky.

To the top of the trail in our Jeeps we flew, with coolers
Full of food and cold drinks this is true.
And, then in a twinkling, we heard a loud CRUNCH.
I hoped from the XJ, I had a bad hunch, to the back
Driver’s side I was bound, sure enough some trail damage was found.
A broken tail light and a dent was the extent of the damage, nothing a
Good wrenching party couldn’t easily manage.
The creeks how the twinkled! The trail it was gnarly,
One wrong move, you’ll be like the ghost of Bob Marley. (DEAD)

We proceeded up the trail as far as we could go, enjoyed the view of the valley below.
A butt of a cigarette Allen held tight in his teeth, the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had such focus, his nerves, they of steel, but I was dying to get behind the wheel.

We’ve had one close call, of that there’s no doubt, my first instinct was to quickly bail out.
Thanks to a calm voice, and Allen’s cool head, Vic spotted us out , there was nothing to dread

We finished the trail safely and went to air up, and checked for trail damage while Trev walked Yank his pup.

Steve sprang to his XJ, to the group he did shout, “Good trail everybody, who’s following me out?”
And I heard him say on the handheld that night, “FM2CD has left the trail, to all a good night.”

"You hope, I'll hurry, you pray, I'll plan, we'll do what's necessary, cause even a miricle needs a hand."
Love you guys
Nessie
