Well, you said the frame rails were ok! If your dad says it's fixable, go for it! I would replace whatever is needed, nothing fancy. Then continue to romp the shit out of it! Mr. Green It's not going to be in any shows right? Wink The repairs should hold up.

Yea. Here's a new predicament. If I get it fixed I have 7.5 inches of lift to install, a new motor, after I fix the floor pans. I work weekends and school during the week. So time is precious and not sure if I will be able to finish it all before Big Dogs in April

Well we finished up the floor pans. We give it about 2 more years before it becomes a problem again.

The good news is that jeep I was suppose to look at was in pretty good shape, however it was a 96 not a 97. I will post up pics after class tommorow

Heres some pics

and heres some finished pics

After trying to weld under the foam and wires on the passenger side, setting the foam on fire, we decided to use a different approach on the drivers side. Since it wasnt as bad, we used some beef sheet metal screws to hold it down, tacked it with the welder where we could and it would be safe from not catching the jeep on fire.

During the process we used some rivets to help hold the sheet metal in place while we cut and hammered on them.

Next on the agenda is to herculine it and hope it holds up for a while

whats the fun if you don't set it on fire .

i remember replacing my rocker panels the dahm seam sealer inside the pillar cought fire inside the unibody , well lets just say i didn't even undo the screws for the panel i just ripped that bastard off and then it smelled like a dry chem fire extinguisher for a week .

yup good times .

i proably would of welded a little more but that is such a boaring anoying stinky crappy job i probably would of just done what you did .

well we knew that it wouldnt keep the jeep alive forever so we just determined how long it would last, then decided that even if we welded the panels in all the way it still wouldnt change how long it would last. So to save the wiring we decided to sheet metal screw it
