Happy New Year Everybody. My exhaust is shot and when I replace it I was wondering about getting rid of the Cat. Converter. I have a 95 ZJ with the 5.2
V8 and my goal is to have a better sounding exhaust. I don't care about milage. I have heard about O2 sensor bypass but I'm not real clear about what it will do. Any suggestion appreciated.

You can also put on a high-flow cat which will change your exhaust sound, and still keep you legal.

I hollowed out the cat and installed a Flowmaster on my 94 ZJ 5.2. Been running it for 3-4 years. It runs and sounds awesome! No change in mpg's. I would have removed the cat, but it needs to be there for visual inspection. Wink Do it!!! Mr. Green Just make sure it'll still pass inspection.

I hacked off the Cat and put on a flowmaster muffler and It sounds sooooo goooood. There's a BIG difference in sound with and without the Cat.

My cat has been on the scrap pile for years.. there is no visual inspection here so I dont need it at all.. I did however have a bung welded into the pipe where the cat was so I could screw in the o2 sensor ...

I get crap mileage but I have a worked over 5.2 with 35" tires and 4:56 gears.. Mr. Green
