Bought a 1990 YJ with 4.2 and weber carb conversion.Problem is it idles at 2000 rpm if you tap the pedal it will go down to 900 rpm but as soon as you give it gas it goes back up to 2000.This happens when it is cold or hot.Do I have a choke problem(if so how do I fix) or do I need a spring of some type to pull it back. I checked and nothing seems to be binding.

Is it 2 or 4 barrel? I would start by spraying off the linkage with carb cleaner, then apply a light lubricant. It may help.

Have an 89 YJ with a 4.2 and Weber Carb as well. Was curious if anyone has changed the intake to inure cooler air vs how hot it gets under the hood when 4 wheeling for a long period of time. Was thinking a Snorkle of some sort might do the trick or a hood scoop (not sure of the hood scoop though, water and sand access). Will consider all ideas, thanks in advance.
