Although many of you advised me NOT to buy this Jeep due to the high mileage and crappy engine (GM V6 2.8L) I did anyways... I couldn't resist the deal! It started at $300 and I ended up only paying $200. The Jeep runs, but needs a new clutch and has 5 brandnew A/T tires.

So, here it is!... Good or bad, it's mine. Any comments are welcome.

If somebody has something to say about this particular model or year, good or bad. Tell me... Thank you!

Year: 1986
Model: Jeep Cherokee Pioneer 4X4
Miles: 200,644 over all miles but 40,000 miles on second engine
Engine: GM V6 2.8L
Transmission: Borg Warner T5, 5 speed manual

I guess DANA 35 rear end??

Total: $200.00!

Tim

Oh yeah! Me too...

Just with a little hesitation. 3 heart beats or so...

What my main issue was, is that I already have 4 cars on my property and this Jeep needs a clutch. So now I have 5 cars and 3 and 1/2 of them run.

'97 Ford Escort = Daily Driver (30+ MPG)
'82 Toyota Pickup = Work Horse (Tough S.O.B!)
'89 Cadillac Coupe Deville (needs head gasket) = Need to sell (8-15 MPG)
'86 Oldsmobile Omega (trashed!) = Junk Yard (Destruction Derby Retired)

And now, the...

'86 XJ (needs clutch) = My First 4X4 and Wheeler Project / Daily Driver

I figure now that I have it... Even though I'm still trying to get that '95 4.0 H.O. At least I have 5 brandnew Jeep tires and lots of part, haha. No, I want to see this Jeep tear up some trails before the end of it's life.

looks pretty good, have fun with it!

maybe a hi flow air filter and a new exhaust will help with the power issues.

Cool...

Well, I'm glad you guys approve!

First step is obviously to fix the clutch... Then I'm sure I'll be doing some more posting in here for help as I make some common modifications. Everything I do to this Jeep (mod wise) I want to be able to transfer over to my future Jeep. List, tires, lockers?? Etc...

Does anyone know how to hook up a dash mount tackometer?

Tim
