Okay, here's the bionic ankle directions - You need to tape your ankle - no ace bandage here. No duct tape though. Get the white medical tape about 1" wide. Tape your foot in a flexed position (i.e. point your toes at your nose.) Start taping above the ankle on your calf. Once you have several passes around your lower calf, move down to your foot. With your foot arched, alternate passes between the arch of your foot and the upper part of your ankle leaving the heel exposed. You want to keep the ankle supported. Since the injury is so recent, take a 1/4" thick piece of felt and cut it into a horse shoe shape that'll fit around your ankle bone where it sticks out. If you twisted it outwards, put it on the outside of your ankle with the U shape pointing up. If you twisted it inward, put the felt on the inside of your ankle again pointing up. Wrap an ace bandage pretty snuggly around your ankle holding the felt against the ankle but not so tight that your eyes start to bulge out of your head. This will help push the fluid back up into your leg and hopefully keep it from swelling up. Also, keep it elevated and iced - 10 mins on and 10 mins off for as long as you can stand it.
The key though is to stay off of it until you absolutely need to be on it so hang your foot from the ceiling with you gravity boots. Make sense? Mr. Green
As for the contingency sticker, just leave an ace bandage streaming from the back bumper.
For clarification, the tape is for when you're standing, but the ace bandage is for when you're sitting of laying down.
Nothing to see here.
