Bare with me here, I'm a former yota guy, now a JeeP transplant, so I'm still learing.

So I have a ZJ, and the stock rear axle is a Dana 35 correct?

I came across a posting on my local Craigslist titled "I have a Dana 35 lockright locker non C clip" for a Dana 35.

This should work for my jeep right?

Thanks,

ZJ's have the D35 w/C clip, that locker won't work for you.

Damn. Well, thanks for the info.

What type of locker do you prefer?
My jeep isn't my daily driver, but it does see some highway time, and I'm not going to be wheeling it extremely hard, but it will definately be wheeled.

I suppose first step should be TC swap b4 lockers huh?

Really? Before swapping out the TC, which is ultimate junk?

What's a direct swap on the rear axle for these things?

Personally, I would swap the t-case first! The rear end will be fine until you start getting into larger tire sizes, unless you already run bigger meats. Cool

Nope, currently running 32x11.50's not enough room to tuck anything else without going to a long arm kit, which I don't have 3k for at this time. Very Happy

On the TC swap, what, if anything should I be aware of prior to starting the swap? Should be a direct swap correct?

It's not a direct swap unless the donor t-case has been prepped by someone else or it comes from a V8.

Hmmm...

Ok, so if I get the case out of anything other than another V-8, what needs to be "prepped" on it...

AIUI, this is considered the definitive writeup: http://jeephorizons.com/tech/tcase.html
You can also search for "transfer case swap" using the search box at the bottom of the page. It will bring up various other threads, detailing the problems and successes of other people.
