Hello Friends!

The back door of my 95 ZJ will not open. I don't really want to turn it over to a body shop and see what they charge me to get the door back in working order. Seems to me the latch just won't release all the way. Any suggestions?

dont take it to a body shop.

all you need to do is take out the screws from the inside and squeeze your and behind the plastic. it might be easier to use someone with smaller hands because it is a super tight fit thers a threaded rod that needs to be pulled up to open the door. once it is open, undo the rest of the screws and take the panel off. you will easily see what needs to be connected. the rod has come undone from a lever. clip the threaded rod back into place andsecure it with a zip tie or even some duct tape. put the panel back on and you are good to go

There are several post on here about it...

thats is good description of what you need to do..

Except.. Once you have the door open and the latch reattatched.. Put a zip tie on it to keep it from coming off agian..

Good luck..

Thanks guys, it worked! Got some zip ties on there so I won't have to do it again.
