I'm not terribly tech savvy when it comes to cars, so I thought I'd post this here and see what anyone thinks.
I have '95 Jeep wrangler, 4 cyl., 5 speed.
About a week ago I noticed a metal on metal dragging sound when I applied the brakes. It seems to be only in the front (rear brakes are new), and I assumed the pads were just worn and need to be replaced. I only heard it when I applied the brakes. When I let off the brakes, or started up again from a stop, no sound. So today, the check engine light came on with no other new problems that I can see/hear, and the dragging sound persists for a short time after I resume driving, no brakes.
Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.

Not sure about the check engine light. You should pull off your front tires and take a look at the pads and rotors. Make sure the calipers aren't hanging up. _________________
