I was looking for some new tires for my 98 ZJ. It's got 2" Rocky Road outfitters coil spacers and the old man emu suspension kit (with the heavy springs and shocks.) It's got the 16x7 stock wheels on it. Right now I've got 235/85R16 (measure out to 32" exactly) Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's on it but they tend to rub when I'm at full stuff. So I was looking for a radial tire a little under 32 inches but I don't know how wide a tire I can mount on the stock 16"x7" rims? I don't really have the money to buy new tires and wheels right now and most of the tires I've seen for 16" wheels only come in metric sizes- with the exception of Interco. I was looking at their radials but most of their 31" tires only come in 12.50" width. I was looking at the SSR Radial specifically. I know if I extend the bumpstops I could probably keep a 32" tire on my Jeep but I was also looking at the Air Lift airbag system in the JC Whitney catalog which would take the place of all of my bumpstops. Does anyone have any experience with Airbags on their Jeep? Are they worth it? And to repeat my earlier question, what are the widest tires I can mount on a 16x7" wheel on my 98 ZJ 5.9? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-nixt

If you don't have the cash for new tires or wheels, you could try wheel spacers behind your rims. I've seen sets of 4 on E-bay
for about $140.

the air bags don't last past 40,000 km's . adjust your steering stops or get more offset rims .
