Hello everyone, i have a few ?'s, i have a 93 jeep grand cherokee with the 4.0 in it, i have spark from the coil to the dis. but not out, and also, my manual stated that i should have a 12 volt power to the coil with the key turned to the on position, when i turn it on, it gives 12 volts for about a sec then turns off till i turn it over

Well, I'd suggest starting with the simple things, a new distributer cap and rotor should cost you under $20 and never hurt to replace anyway.

If that still isn't doing it, the next thing to check would be the gear at the bottom of the distributer that drives the rotor.

Have you checked the distributer end of the center wire that comes from the coil?

Ok i have replaced the

1. Coil
2. Distributor serveral times thinking they might have been bad
3. Crank shaft sensor
4. Wires
5. Spark plugs
6. Even tryed a different ecm

Well, you've got me stumped, at least without bing there.

If you're not getting that constant 12V though, maybe it is the supply to the coil???

Thats what has me confused, i even ran a hot wire to the battery to the coil thinking that as well

spark comes off the other cps i believe , the cam position sensor . do you have an alarm ?
