Finally after a grand total of 16 hours I installed the Rough Country 4.5" suspension lift on my 92 Cherokee Laredo. The whole kit went together pretty well besides breaking the lower shock mount stud on the drivers side and shearing both the upper shock bolts on the passenger side. The rear wasn't too bad to install, just the bushings that the old springs were on were seized up and took forever to break loose, and the shackle bushings were seized as well; it took a porta-power to move them close enough to get the new leafs to line up. The front however was a breeze, took 4-5 hours from disassembly to finished product. All that is left is getting extended brake lines and installing the 1" t-case drop.

Looks great!

I'll be getting another Jeep next week, it's a '90 Laredo, it has a bit of cosmetic damage but it runs great and for only $250 I coudn't say no.

I decided it was best not to lift my '86 XJ with the GM 2.8 in it. It runs great and gets around off-road fine as is. I'm excited about getting a 4.0 Jeep! I'll finally have something I can lift, put large tires on and still have plenty of torque.

Your 4.5" lift look great. I think I'm going to try to stay on the lower side though. Maybe 2.5"-3.0" for me...

I'd like to just get an "add-a-leaf" and coil spring spacer.

All in hope of saving some $$$ for gas... $4.35/gallon.

understandable, but i'm gunna go ahead and throw this out there, make sure you start using liquid wrench on all the bolts you'll be taking off. I broke both upper shock bolts on the passenger side rear and the lower mount stud on the driver side rear. For the money I would definately save up the 695.00 it cost to have the 4.5" kit with new springs shipped to my door. I bought my kit off of "top gunz customs" on Ebay, the shipping was $30 less through them. All in all the jeep flexes nicely, I'll have to post a new pic with the rims and 31's on. Glad your finally upgrading to a 4.0! You won't be sorry, the upgrade is definately a plus. Going from the 2.5 to the 4.0 HO motor was like going from a moped to a crotch rocket.
