I have a '92 Sahara. After overheating, I went ahead and replaced my thermostat when I replaced my water pump. I have replaced the gasket 3 times now and it's still leaking from the bottom of the housing. The housing bolts directly to the head and I've heard not to use gasket sealer on the motor side of a gasket, but the book says to. I'm not sure if this is the problem or could the housing be bad? Also since it overheated, when I start my jeep up, it sounds like it's struggling and running very rough. The starter and alternator are less than 3 mo old. What is causing that? One problem after another... the temp gauge shoots all the way to hot. When I drove it around the block, the needle would drop to 0 when I pushed in the clutch, but go back to hot when driving. I'm thinking my sensor needs to be changed? Can someone help please?

guage not working sounds like a bad ground

running rough is probably a cracked head, or blown head gasket causing coolant to leak into the cylinder, hence why it wont run right

have it preassure checked
