I have an 02' soft top, and I bought a 06' soft top about a year ago, I have had some responces to this question from another site but they were vauge in the anwser dept.

All manufactures of tops have 97-02 then 03-06
What are the differances between an 02' and 03' soft top?

I just bought a VDP full mesh bikini top awaiting for summer, any one have a mesh full length bikini top or have any feed back about them?
Thanks

If I remember correctly, the differences in the two is the windshield channel. I think the holes are different on the two.

The main difference is material and hardware. You can put the material on the older hardware. This is done by removing the screws that hold it to the windshield channel. When Jeep change the padding on the roll bars they had to change the length of the bracket that the bows mount to and that results in shorter bows. This is why if you use the newer style on and older Jeep the top will be lose. The tops are the same size so you can just swap out the hardware.

I think I may have fixed the problem with the top. The straps that extend from the mid-bow to the rear-bow only had on rivet holding them on. I bought some stainless screws and washers and drilled out the rivets and shortened up the straps by about 3/8 of an inch witch seemed too tightened up the side windows.
Thanks for your input.
