Get the IPF H4 or similar housings. Then whatever H4 bulbs you desire to fit the housings. _________________ 04 Unlimited |

so you want projector lights. Not sure if they're available for XJs and can't say they'd look good even if they were available. _________________ 04 Unlimited |

| I'm not sure but I think PIAA makes a replacement xenon bulb for the XJ. |

personally, i don't think the BMW headlights are any brighter. but the zenon projector lights really are great in regards to having a clean cut-off line of illumination and different color temperature. which of those two features do you think attract you more? if the color temperature (the "whiter" light) then something as simple as silverstar headlights can whiten your headlight output. if it is the cut-off lines of illumination then i heard that some of the replacement housings that ehirner spoke about help keep the light from diffusing as much.
again, just my personal thoughts....YRMV. _________________ 2003 TJ Sport |

I have the IPF housings in my TJ with the IPF Magic J bulbs that I cut the glow rings off of. I love the headlights. Didn't like the glow rings. _________________ 04 Unlimited |

well i like the color, but i really need it to be brighter. my stock ones are just not bright enough.
so H4 bulbs will plug right into the stock hook ups? _________________ 99-XJ |

Yes; H4 will plug directly to the factory plug.
I have a set of Rampage H4 light housings in my TJ, they do make the square housings too.
It only took an hour to replace the housing and adjust the lights, very easy to do.
I upgraded to the silverstar H4 bulbs, BIG differance over stock. The rampage housings are good on low beam, but the high beam is where it's the best, nice coverage over the road. The best thing is you won't have to take the grill or the lens ring apart again when a bulb goes out, Cherokee may be more difficult to replace though. There also the least expensive out of all the H4 housings, and are made from alum.
I'd like to try the IPF fatboy lights when these go out, but it'll be a while... _________________ 2002 Wrangler Apex

Yes but you need the housings for them as well like I suggested up above. There are many out there. IPF, Cibie, Hella, Delta, etc. Figure out which ones you want and go with them. I'd strongly recommend the IPF but those are the only ones I've used or seen in real life so I can't make a comparison to the others. I am highly pleased with the IPF housings I have. Once you get the H4 housings, you can run any H4 bulb you want. From the Magic J bulbs to Sylvania Silver Stars. _________________ 04 Unlimited |
