How to post pictures

Since not everybody is familiar with the software we use here, I thought I'd post a quick tutorial on posting pictures. (For the slower folks, that means I'm going to show you how to do it. )
First, you need to have the photo hosted somewhere online. Some of the common places are http://www.cardomain.com, http://www.imageshack.us/ and http://www.photobucket.com.
After you've uploaded your pics to wherever your heart desires, right click on the picture and copy the picture's address.
For instance: http://www.jeephorizons.com/code3tj/spam.jpg

So, when you are posting your picture, click the button at the top of the posting screen that says "Img", paste the address to your photo, then click "Img" again. That's it.


To have a photo beneath your name (an avatar) you can either host it at one of those same places or you can upload it to this site. If it's hosted elsewhere, go to your profile and scroll to the bottom of the page. Paste the adress into the field "Link to offsite avatar." Or if you desire, you can click browse and upload it to this site directly from your home computer. The only thing I ask is that you respect the size limits for avatars and keep them within the listed sizes. If it's too large, it'll throw off the page and get your avatar rapidly deleted.
