How can you tell how wide of rims to buy to fit tires?

I have new tires off our pick up. But need narrower rims to fit them. The tire number is: P245/75 R16 109S M+S.

I know the rims have to be 16" tall but I don't know how wide.

Are they Michelin A/T2's? If so, Michelin recommends 6.5" - 8" wide rims.
