throttle body size

how large is the stock throttle body on an 01 wrangler with a 4.0? i ask because i need a new one and am thinking about going larger but would like to know what is the norm. thanks

I think it's about 54mm.

Why do you want a larger TB? I always ask because unless you already have 5.38s and turn the engine 5 grand +, there just doesn't seem to be a reason for a larger TB.

If you are running a stock drive train, you want torque.......and torque is produced by increasing volumetric efficiency. At low engine speed that means keeping the incoming mixture at the highest velocity possible. High mixture velocity is attained be smaller diameter intake and exhaust not larger. There was a guy named Bernoulli who figured this out along time ago.

i thought the stock tb was 60mm for the 4.0l. you can probably just call your jeep dealer and ask them what the size is but im pretty sure it is 60mm. but dont quote me on this
