i want to put a detroit locker in my amc 20, and while i was in there putting some 4.56 gears along with a 1 piece axle. But do i need a locker if i have a 1 piece axle. thanks

With one piece axles, the shaft and hub are 1 unit.

With two piece axles the hubs and shafts are seperate units. The hubs frequently spin on the end of the shafts. That's why the one piece axles are needed.

Changing the shafts has nothing to do with the carrier or spiders. So, if you were open before, you'd still be open. The Detroit will solve the problem.

I have this setup under my CJ. thumb up
