I am looking for a later model XJ with manual tranny (AX-15/NV3550) and 4x4 in the I6, say 91-01 (but 99-01 preferred). Did Jeep actually make this vehicle stock? When I find a manual it is a 2WD. I keep looking at Craigslist/Ebay/Etc for a manual 4WD XJ with no success. Do these even exist from the factory? if so what percentage of production was manual versus auto tranny?

Thanks in Advance... I need to replace my old faithful '77 IHC Scout

There's a ton out there... You must be looking too hard.

I don't know the percentage of manual/auto off hand but I'd guess that there are more auto's out there.

I've owned 2 XJ's with AX-15's, I6's and 4X4 in the past two years. There's a bunch over here in the Northern Cali and Southern Oregon area.

If you don't mind me asking... Why are you so set on a manual? The auto XJ's are great. The transmission they use (AW4) is pretty much bullet proof. Not to say that the manual's with AX-15's are weak though.

I'm looking for a manual... because it's fun! and I get better engine braking going down hill in the manual vs automatic...

here in Southern Cal I haven't found one after looking for many, many weeks. guess I need to extend my search... plenty of manuals in 2x4, though

thanks for the email
