Hey everyone, A year and a half ago, I installed a budget boost on my 02’, ever since then I’ve had a slight drive shaft buzz. I though I'd need a SYE to cure the problem but never had the money.
I received my newest JP magazine, and I read if you have installed a BB on a manual trans. Jeep, that you may need to adjust the rear cam bolts to set the pinion angle. My educated guess is it would be on the upper arms, on the axle mounting point. Also I do not know how much to rotate to get the angle correct.

Do you have adjustable rear cam bolts? You may need to get some adjustable upper ca's.

I have no idea what or where to look for these bolts. The artical I'm refering to here is JP, June 10' (this month) "Bitty Boost Bonanza" in the yellow section labeled "Height Fight", "TJ", this section read "Driveshafts:Front driveshaft shouldn't buzz. Rear pinion will need to be angled up slightly on Jeeps with manual transmission by using cam bolts in the control arms."
So, I do have a manual trans, should mean I do have cam bolts, or are they an aftermarket item?

I have never seen cam bolts in the rear of a TJ from the factory. Even the front cam bolts wouldn't work for the back of the TJ without the side tabs to hold the cam washers in place. Well, I don't think they would...I haven't looked at an upper control arm mount on a rear axle in quite some time (mine's triangulated). If you do want to try them, check Poly Performance - they have them.

For a very minor vibe or "buzz", I've always had good luck with staggered washers. Get 12 thick washers that fit the center skid mount bolts. sandwich one washer between the skid and the frame of the forward bolt, two on each middle bolt, and three sandwiched on the back bolts. That should put just a slight enough angle on the skid to help out with the vibe and not drastically eat up your ground clearance. Yes, a 1" drop kit will work too...but why lose an inch of clearance if not needed?

I was thinking of making T-case lowering spacers. I really do not want to lower my T-case 1 inch. sounds like 3 thick washers seems close to 3/16, having that slight angle about 1.5 - 2.0 deg., is that enough?

There aren't any cam bolts back there, I was messing with you. Razz You would have to elongate the holes that the bolts go through to get the cam to work. Even then, like Quadna mentioned there's no tabs for the cams to turn against. You'll have to either drop the t-case some or get adjustable ca's.
