fender flare repair

I am getting ready to paint my flares with the Krylon fusion paint. As I was cleaning them, I noticed the short piece along the bottom on the passenger side is cracked. I'm wondering if anybody reccommends a way to bond it back together? I was thinking like an epoxy or something like that? Any ideas?

you will probably need to put something behind it so for strength , i can't think of what to use thow .

I have had good luck with plastic epoxy and fiberglass weave together. Here’s what I did; I scuffed up the inside of the damaged piece of plastic with 150 grit sandpaper, I happened to have 1 square ft of fiberglass weave (how I got it is a mystery to me), I cut the weave to the shape of the split, looked like a 1inch wide X 4 inch long banana, then applied the epoxy with a body filler spatula, sort of like carbon fiber, except not as strong. The weave is very dense and was very white, but as I applied the epoxy, it became almost clear. After the epoxy was fully dry, I used the same sandpaper to scuff the epoxy, and then painted the repaired area black. You can see that the flair is split, but it feels smooth. The repair is only noticeable if you’re looking for it looking on the underside of the flair, but after 9 years of road grime, you can’t tell.
