Hello everyone, I have a question that has me stumped and I am hoping someone will know what i can try.. I have a code telling me that i have an open circuit on cyl 6, The wire clip that attaches to the fuel injector for cyl 6 was spliced into at one time and pigtailed back together. Will this cause too much resistance? I noticed this last week and after touching the wires my jeep started to run funny and threw the code at me. Oh and by the way, i have a 2000 XJ 4.0L
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I would take a look at that splice job and fix anything that may need to be fixed. After that, have the code erased and take it from there.

I just swaped the injector plug with one from a junk yard and will solder the wires back together later on today. I also swapped the #6 injector with #1 to diagnose if the problem was the injector however after clearing the code the problem still is the same with the same code resurfacing so i know the injector is okay. Any other ideas?

Well I just checked for voltage on the #6 injector plug and there is little to none. On the other five I measure approx 1.4-2.0 (Dial set on 20). Very interesting....
I have also unplugged the wiring harness from the ECM and checked each wire for resistance and everything looks okay here... Maybe there is something wrong with the ECM.
