Take a look at this and tell me what you think about it. In my forever looking for cleaner, cooler air without the use of a snorkle this makes me wonder. I would opt to make it myself. I know about the cowl intake idea too but I am not handy enough for something like that without some help and there is never enough help around here. I went into some decent mud (about as much as I usually do/have done/plan to do) and the engine bay air intake area was pretty clean after. Lends to wondering if the cone would stay clean considering what I typically do.... I don't have a lot of money and I think that I could make something like this for cheap with the biggest expense being the cone. Cool Twisted Evil

For $44 that's not a bad price. The only issue I have with filters like those is the amount of junk that gets through them. I'm not sure how much driving you do in dusty conditions and if it's not much, then it's probably a moot point. You could also piece something together from this place that wouldn't be too much trouble, but it would probably end up being about the same price. Wink

Well its still not realy getting any cool air and dirt does get past the cloth style filters, so I wouldnt bother myself. I didnt look close enough, but do they claim HP gains with it also? HP gains are a farce with the cloth elements too.

I went back to my stock air filter setup on my 99 b/c I didn't feel comfortable with the K&N I had on it with the dust, mud, and water where I wheel.
