So not to induce flaming, I'm only asking this qustion hypothetically. Only becasue my wifes mother's bother's cousin's friends, dughter want's to know so they can tell thier Grandfather's co-worker who has this question:

Is there any "kits" to transplant a TJ's 4-cyl/6-cyl with an optional manufacturers power plant.. say a buick V6, Chevy small block, or some other gas guzzling ticker. And if there was such a thing and my wifes mother's bother's cousin's friends, dughter's Grandfather's coworker was to do such a travisty, would this warrant a band for life from the JeepHorizon.com's forum for life? ...if they they were registerd that is.

I'm so confused....

If you or someone else wants to do an engine swap, one of the best places to contact is Advance Adapters. They would have the closest thing to a "kit" for doing an engine swap.

A friend of mine had a CJ with a chevy SB 350 in it so it can be done. From what I remember him saying it was a bit of a handful to drive though. As for a ban I can't imagine adding more power to a jeep warranting a ban. Smile Who would argue against more power?

That may not be as "against the Jeep religion" as you might think. Back in the 70's when Kaizer built Jeeps thay used Buick V-6's so I think you are on the right track here...
Advance Adapters makes engine mounts and other associated hardware needed for heart transplants. The best thing to do would put a Dodge/Chrysler motor in there, like the Dodge 318 for example. I have come across several Jeeps with Ford and Chevrolet engines in them - they are loud and powerful I will tell you that much! The only drawback is that they are thirsty!! You can't beat the hp and the torque you get out of them though. A little regearing and you could turn 35's or 38's with no problem!! Good luck with finding out who really asked that question Very Happy
