I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport. The heat was not working. I found a cable under the passenger side dash that when I move in one direction the heat comes out hot, but the air conditing is not cold. I move the the cable in the other direction and the air conditioning is cold, but the heat is not hot.

This cable does not seem to move when I adjust any of the temperature gauges or move from the switch from heat to air conditioning, so I'm not sure whether its disconnected from one of the switches or something else.

Any suggestions?
