I drive a 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo, quad trac.
Has anyone encountered a grinding sound coming from the left front wheel area.. I've changed brake pads, re packed CV joint with new boots,inspected wheel bearing hubs, and ABS system...
Any insight or info would be appreciated....Thx........

Didja ever get ths solved? Is it pulling at all to that side? You said you changed the brake pads but did you inspect the calipers...one of both might be dragging.

Today is 10.14.04 so I hope your problem is fixed by now. If not this MAY help. We had a 98 Concord doing the same thing and we finally found the problem to be a loose nut on one of the component of the steering/suspension system. A nut had come loose-I know it sounds too simplistic and absurd. Our problem lasted for months and many trips to the mechanic and by accident they finally found it. At first they said it was just a machining issue but we didn't buy that. Check every nut and bolt on the whole front end, steering, alignment, suspension and any others you see. If that isn't it I don't know but it's worth a look-see.
