I noticed that too- what did you paint them with? I used some Farm equipment spraypaint and it keeps flaking off. I was gonna go with some rustoleum but wasn't sure if it would stick any better.

Platic dip? That's what I used as bedline for the rear end of my jeep. It seemed to hold up well, but I never really though about using it for shackles. Thanks for the tip.

I'm not sure who first had the idea, I think it was JC. She like's her accessories to be yellow. Todd I believe copied her and went for yellow, I went for red. The way I did it was to get a disposeable tin foil baking tray and moulded it to form a narrow container in which I poured enough of the tool dip to cover about 1/2 the shackle. Slowly dip it in, slowly remove it. Hang them up on wire for 30 minuts and repeat. The unused tool dip I then poured back in to the tin.

Actually Plasti- Dip comes in Aerosol cans too. That is what I use whenever I cover something in it. I have like 4 cans in the basement, but no red. I'm gonna have to find some, I think that the Home Despot carries it.
