I'm thinking about upgrading my front brakes to Power Slot Rotors and Hawk Perf. brake pads...does anyone have any experience with these on a Jeep?

I've used the Hawk pads in the past and have been impressed with them and I know a lot of guys that use the Power Slot rotors on their F-bodies and they love em'...but I don't know anyone that has either of these on a Jeep.

Does anyone know of something that might be a better setup?

Thanks!

I would check and see what Currie offers. I have trailed with a few guys who swear by them. I am sure the Hawk ones are good but Currie may have something just as good...and cheaper. Or maybe not. ????

Good luck - CoreyXJ

I went ahead and ordered the Power Slot rotors and Hawk Perf. pads from qaudratec.com they had the best overall prices. I'll let you all know how they perform once I get them installed.

Put the pads and rotors on yesterday, flushed and filled the brake fluid, and rotated the tires.

They seem to be performing VERY well. I'll have to wait until they break in before I can make a final judgement. I did lose some pedal firmness, but that's normal when you get new pads and it should firm back up once they pads have mated to the rotors.

So far, I think it's a pretty good mod.

you don't waste anytime on mods do you? When I ask a question it will atleast be a year min. before I do anything and I spend that money about 3 times and then have to save up again for it! Mr. Green Keep us posted on the performance, brakes are one thing you don't want to go cheap on.

LOL, nah I guess I don't. I usually have a REAL good idea of what I'm going to do when I post up, unless someone has a lot of information to the contrary.

I'll definately keep the board posted on how it goes. I will say this, that even with a slightly lower pedal "feel" they grab MUCH better than the OEM ones ever did. They really shine when you brake really hard, I've taken her from 55-5mph (as per the break-in instructions suggested) and was like "...daaaaaaamn"... LOL.

Now that you've had them on for a while, what are you impressions of them?

Thanks for bringing it back up! I forgot.

In a word...AWESOME! Stopping power is much better and they bite even harder the hotter they get. Shoulda' came this way OEM!

Now I'll have to figure out what to do with the rears...I HATE drum brakes!
