I was doing a google search last night and came across this article on the USFS roadless rule plan. It looks like it's a small newspaper in Manti, UT. The part that opened my eyes was this:
Quote:
Opponents claim the proposed rule is too restrictive. “Having a closed-unless-open policy would limit individual use of the forest too much,” says a form letter prepared by jeephorizons.com. “It is too radical a change.

“The default action is to close everything up,” the letter added, “and then the Forest Service would have to use its limited resources to figure out what areas should be open.”

It took a bit of searching until I found the source of the "form letter." I believe I got it from the Blue Ribbon Coalition or ARRA. Either way, I posted it in a thread back in July, called it good and now it's appearing in a newspaper. I've got no problem with it (other than the author should've tried to get in touch with me before reprinting what I posted) but it gives you something to think about. Who else is looking at our websites. Who is going to quietly copy that photo you posted of your jeep being somewhere it's not supposed to be? None of us should ever do anything which will jeopardize our future access to public lands, but don't give the anti-access groups ammunition to get our trails closed. You never know who is watching our boards.
