If you want to run 33's on an XJ you are going to need 5-6 inches of lift or more. I have 3.5" and run 31's and they rub sometimes. If you get 5-6 inches of lift you will more than likely spend a lot of money getting the suspension setup right. Since you can't do body lifts you will have to get a 6" kit and will also need a SYE for your T-case along with custom driveshaft. Look around in the WriteUp sections and see if anything interests you.

Here to help... CoreyXJ

What he said. You'll need minimum of 5 inches of lift. Even with 6", you'll need to trim the fenders back.

Like Corey said...look around the writeups. Also check out Rubicon Express. My recommendation would be go with their 5.5" lift.

Let us know if you got any more questions.

Steve

To be honest with you, you wont be happy, trailmaster is junk and rancho shocks suck just as much. My advice would be to go the route of CoreyXJ and take the Rubicon Express 3.5" lift with OME shocks, call Bob Supplee 405.799.8977. He will beat anyones price and has great customer service, plus shipping is included in the price he quotes you. Corey got his lift for around the same price that you are looking at, and it is 100 X better than trailmaster.

33's will fit if you get the RE 5.5 kit but you will need a new shaft and SYE. And you will also have to trim the fenders..

They will fit but the risk of rubbing is just greater. At full articulation my 31's rub and I have not cut or trimmed anything. I would advise you get 31's. They are more common and might end up being cheaper in the long run.

i just talked to bob, and he said for a rubicon 4.5" lift w/ OME shocks will run me like $907 Neutral so thats almost $300 more than what i was quoted for TM w/ Ranchero's..hmmm, i guess id have to go with quality? if i got this 4.5" lift i would not have to do any trimming for 32"x11.50's?

Probably not but thats is of course assuming that you net 4.5" of lift. Trimming may still be required - only way to tell is if you just do it. I bought the 3.5"RE lift from Bob, not the 4.5" (plus with that you will prob need an SYE and a new shaft)
