i am looking for links or articles on anyone moveing the 4cyl engine foward to get more room for a longer driveshaft in the rear.
I have seen hints of it on other sites, but nothing that tell me the problems, reasons or results.
It seems that it would be a somewhat easy project.
If anyone has come across anything like that let me know
thanks

sounds like a good idea but theres 2 somewhat minor problems, the t case shifter and the transmission shifter. The trasmission shifter just needs to be kind of lengenthed and bent back to near the original position. If its a TJ the problems with the tcase shifter is the same, but you also have to figure somethign out since the shifter is mounted to the body aswell as the tcase on a tj. hope that gives you some ideas

i considered those,
also cut the radiator huses shorter, new engine mounts shorter front drive shaft LONGER rear drive shaft, longer exhaust.
THe throttle cable and all of the wiring seems to have more then enough room to move without any major problems, I am not sure about the clutch yet.
also i noticed the skid plate seems to have have holes for the mount just like the stock, but about 6 inches forward.
This is the setup , that I am working towards,
http://www.high-impact.net/transmission_and_gear/Klune-V_Bronco_D20_combo.htm. This is so far the only place that I have found that even mentions moving the 4cyl forward.
