I think they will both look good but will the chrome scuff easily and come off and then look like crap? Ive been told black on black is dumb and chrome all over is dumb too so I dont know?

I like the look of my black Cragars. I am no fan of chrome. Not only does it scratch but the chroming process weakens steel.

Black on black can't be dumb, it can look bad, but can't be dumb. Tell thatguy he needs to make correct statements. I prefer black over chrome, just because I don't like chrome for various reason.
Black on black is very popular, so it is harder to make your jeep stand out with black on black. Here is what mine looks like.

Chrome don't get ya home. (Yeah yeah, black doesn't get you back either).

I don't like chrome. The labor needed to keep it looking nice is too much. If I was limited to chrome or black steel wheels, I'd go black (or maybe white and paint them to match my chilipepper red paint...how cool would that be).

I would seriously consider some alloy wheels though. They're lighter, balance better, and don't bend as easily.

The vast majority of alloy wheels are expesive though.
They are also harder to upkeap, they get pitted and are ugly as sin when they are dirty. That of course is just a personal opinion. Smile

Ive got AR Outlaw 2's on my heep, and I painted them black. If they get scuffed, a bit of krylon black and they look like new again..

Like I said, they're lighter and balance better. By far, worth the extra expense.

Also, clear coat the wheels prior to installing them. It'll keep the majority of the bad stuff from damaging them as long as you don't chip it off. As kitesurfer noted, you can always paint the alloys black.

You are correct sir but like i said that was my opinion. I personally am a cheap cheap human. Therefore i like steel wheels and i prefer black over chrome aswell. They are making some really nice looking Alloy wheels that are black also. I work at tires plus so whenever we are bored i go and read throught the brochures.

I miss the painted alloys that American Racing offered years ago. They used to offer some of their alloys in a chrome, polished, or silver painted finish. The painted never had any upkeep probs and always looked sharp. I'm not a big fan of shiny myself, that's why I like the machined/dull/whatever look of the Canyons. Shame wheels seem to only come in bland or bling extremes any more. I had black steelies too btw, hated them Mr. Green .

Then you should know how poor the aftermarket steel wheels are when it comes to QA. Out-of-round, hard to balance, easily bent. Aside from cheap, there are no plus's to steel wheels.

You can get the white wagon wheels for around $35 from any jeep catalog, get those and paint them.

I had no problems at all when it came to balancing my wheels or my friends who got the smae ones, or my cousins for that matter. Opinions Vary.
