What year is it and is it turning over? Is the distributor oriented correctly? Have you checked the pickup coil in the distributor?

It's a 1979 CJ7 v8. I changed the ignition coil and the starter solenoid. Then I I cleaned off the xtra lubrication. And that's not working. It's cranking but it's not getting a spark. The battery is working. After putting a new fuel system, I can tell that gas is going through. And yes the distribution cap is fine. So I have no clue.

I know what your problem is..wanna know why? Cause I had the same problem.

Question: Did you change engines?

If so: You need to replace the whole wiring harness in your jeep. lol I put a Bronco wiring harness into mine and it started up fine...took me many days to finally figure it out.
