You sure about that. Next time you get in an auto, look at the shifter, that funny little #1 is there for a reason.

It just so happens that when you shift into that spot the auto tranyy will stay in first gear... I know I know its a wild concept but it works.


Sorry Dozer, you'd better double-check that info. On Automatic XJs, the gearbox has it clearly written "1/2". I'm not sure what TJs or Grands have, but "1/2" is NOT EXCLUSIVE gearing. The tranny decides for itself which gear to use, either "1" OR "2", when dealing with engine load. In order to get EXCLUSIVE "1" on XJs, you have to put in a manual selector that FORCES it into 1st gear only.

Granted, I said "all autos", what I meant was XJs, and my Monte SS was the same way.

Fox... You have a 4.0??? I think you can take him.. The 4.0 Is very torquey (???) But if you are running a Dana 35 ... Better do it on soft ground.. If you get traction you will snap an axle...

yes sir 4.0 and yep very torkey and yea d35....ill hook him in a field then...oh yea gots limited slip too...is there another axle that is just as good if not better than the d44? cuz around here they are kinda expensive and sometimes rare

I run an 8.8... Its stronger than a 44 and under every explorer in the Junkyard.. (My local yard has 20 of them...)
