Hi,

This is my first forum posting ever, so please be gentle. Basically I 'm looking for advice on what I should look out for in owning a 1983 Cherokee Pioneer. (Is it only a Pioneeer stereo that gives it this designation or is there more to it than that.) Any advice or warnings would be much appreciated.

The first year of the Cherokee was 1984. Are you sure it's a Cherokee and not a Wagoneer?

As far as the Pioneer, it's just a trim package designation. The packages for 84 were Base, Wagoneer, Pioneer, Chief.
