I think that since we're a week away now, we should probably start making plans for what time and where we all are meeting?

I'll start at the beginning. Does RC know we're coming? I'll zap an email off to RC today and find out the details.

Does anyone from the Allentown area or who'll be coming through the Allentown area want to meet up and travel to RC together?

Does anyone know how to get there? I imagine we could take 78W to 81N, but that seems really out of the way since 78 will take us further west than we need to go and 81 will bring us back east a bit since it runs diagonally in a NE-SW direction in that area. (Yes...I'm over thinking this a bit...but I hate driving 78. It's so plain.)

Here's a map of the area.

According to MSN Mappoint, it looks like 125N would be a good short cut from 78W to 81N without travelling too far out of the way if coming from the LV. Mike, you're out that way, can you offer any insight as to what 125 is like up through Pine Grove?

Here's a link to a map RC created to get us to their facility once we get off of 81N at Exit 107 (Rt. 209).
http://www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.com/DIRECTIONS.jpg

It won't save a lot of time, but we can all fill out the required membership application before hand also. Here's a link...

They know we're coming Mr. Green ...
Check out the calendar for February Smile

I'm not sure what our plans are regarding Hayley, if she comes or goes visiting grandparents for the day, so I'm not gonna commit to any kinda caravan because of that. I was figuring on meeting up at the sign in area, but I'm not sure if they're cool with vehicles staging there. Anyone that's been there before, is this where ya's normally meet up (kinda like at PAP)? What time does everyone wanna meet (between "x" and "x" kinda times, that should eliminate my "ish" dst standards Wink ). Can't think of much else right now other than that if anyone's that been there before might wanna recommend some trails to start out on. I know the park's laid out into two sections, but that's about the extent of my knowledge, and obviously weather will change normal conditions in a heartbeat.

Crazy, you sound like you've wheeled with us already flipoff agree .

well let me tell you....RAUSCH CREEK RULES!!!!!!!!! Mr. Green

had a blast today...even though i ran with the stockers most of the day. i go through pine grove every time i go up to 81....i go up 501N to 125N. if you get off 78, its gonna be the 501 exit, 125 doesn't run down that far. conditions were pretty good today, maybe bout 4-8" of snow on the ground, and hardly any ice....well except for the staging area...that was one big sheet of ice Smile . i think a good place to meet would be the truck stop right off 81 at exit 104-Ravine(rt. 125). but let me know what you guys think bout that....

later
kyle

btw...i'll have my pics uploaded soon.... Mr. Green

That sounds good, snow I can deal with...ice sucks and blows at the same time Mr. Green . Supposed to be in the 40's for a better part of the week, so hopefully that'll melt even more of the white stuff.

Yeah...I saw that on another map site. As you can see from the map I posted, it's not clear that it would be 501 and not 125.

Here are a couple more:

Poser shot!

Take I-78 West to Rt. 501 North. You'll take that to the end, and trun left on 895 (west), then right onto rt. 443 through Pine Grove. Keep going, it turns into rt. 125 north, for a couple of miles. When you see signs for I-81, turn left. That Exxon is the closest one, so fill up there. COntinue up that road, don't get onto I-81. Follow the windy road for a few miles, and it will lead you right up to the turn to the staging area.

Sorry I can't make it, I'll be leading 15+ jeeps up at Paragon next Saturday. Have fun!
